About k6yar.com – everyone has a name!

The word k6, in basic term, means what’s up in Nepalese Language in informal way.
By adding yar, it becomes k6yar?–making it even more informal. While the word will have “What’s up?” or “What’s happening” or “What’s going on?” in English language, the word k6yar is used often among closed friends and even among spouse. In Devanagari, it is written as केछ ? One interesting point about this language is also the resemblance to Hindi greeting, which goes like this: KyahalHay or just what would be Kya. The earlier KyaHalha in Hindi means the same as in Nepali. The word k6yar can also have the meaning as a question similar to English, how are you or how is your health.

We picked this domain because it was short and it stuck to us all day long when we decided to pick one. Now that you know there is even a domain that asks you how you are, be sure to tell your friends and family that there is actually a domain called k6yar.

What’s in a Name ? Here is more

  • Use the word k6yar in between close friends not with your Dad or Mom or any one above you. The country’s culture for upbringing kids has “Respect” at the forefront in teaching day by day. And Respect be it in writing or in speaking plays an important role. To give you an example, you rarely call your mom or dad by their name.
  • It’s common to see husband and wife use the word k6yar.com. Example, a tired husband would come home and say to his wife, k6yar ? or same would go fro lady if the husband is unemployed or is on a day off.  The answer to the question is general, “nothing much” and in Nepali” Kay He Chaina
  • Two good friends often love to use the words.
  • Scholars also use the word k6yar when they meet.
  • It is generally believed that when a friend tells you k6yar? he or she is really not expecting any answer from you. But to keep the communication going, you shouldn’t just keep your mouth shut either. Say something about what is going on, perhaps in your life, or what’s up ahead. If you are cooking a meal for both ? say it, he could be hungry. or if nothing is happening in your life you could say, “Kay he pani chaina yar” or “Ustaitahho” all meaning nothing much and all is same.

It’s sad that he has to work so young and work’s so hard. Does he have no time to have friends? Can the government not do something to help childrens in Nepal so that they don’t have to work and can have a child’s life. He should be out riding a bicycle playing with friends not having to work so hard. If the Nepali government were to do anything to start their so called Democractic movements, they should first think about hardship of Nepali kids and their rights to childhood.

This poor child! I live in Australia and i get up in the morning, eat a hearty breakfast, get dressed go to school, have a fantastic day! Sure i do chores but nothing compared to this! My parents are divorced, and have a very bad relationship, so when i am sad i think to myself, there are children on this world, like this little boy, that have it much worse then me. I am 12 years old and when i grow up i am going to make it my mission to make poverty a word not as commonly used.

:sigh this is the truth that have clunched nepal for a decade. poverty is to be allievated, children should be rescued, wake up nepal.

  2. i think we have to vote maoist, i want to see what change they can bring, i am not a supporter of maoist but, i don’t think all other corrupted politician who already show there ass to people can’t bring any changes and hopes for poor boy like sudarshan..
we all want our basic need , and sudarshan should have too, at last i want to say your article can be great help to make nepalese in aboard like me to think about nepal and make feel like have to do something

  3. where are the child organizations, NGO’s?
somebody should….the person who took the trouble of writing this article and asking that boy these questions and taking pictures should actually ask for help from the NGO’s and child organizations and inform about his condition.
there might be thousands of unfortunate people like him in Nepal but why not help as many people as possible.

  4. The author contributed to this article to bring their story to all of us by giving Rs 500 to the kids family for their photo and a story to share with the rest of the world. If you are so interested in helping, there are lots of NGOS in our country, do a search “List of Social Organizations in Nepal” and if you are willing and have enough, you can donate yourself.

It is impossible for 1 organization to help all the kids. And most of the International Organizations do not work in all the remote areas in Nepal and perhaps that’s one reason why they can’t help all.

The intent of writing this article is not collect any money from users or so on. Those who are interested in donating, you can contact the Bal Madhir of Nepal but there is no guarantee that all charitable funds goes to the needy ones in our country.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
