Job is a Job

First rule of the job, You work to earn money.  Full stop.

It’s a good thing if you can get a job that pays you good money, but one should not wait for a good job to come by if any job is available.

Do you worry what your friends will say about your job that they think is not for people like you? Say for example, a job of a waiter or waitress. Do you believe in discrimination? That’s the worst subject in the history of mankind.  If you are saying, this job is for these kind of people, you are really discriminating, and that is not a good thing to begin with……… !

Lets be together, lets make a revolution about doing any jobs in Nepal. Let us close our eyes, and pick any job that pays small or big money, let us close our ears and forget about what others say. Let us work. By working, some of the problems that us – teens are facing can be solved, such as the problem of drug and its related crimes

Have you seen a person carrying milk in a bicycle and selling it to doors to doors? Is he young or old? Old? So you think its okay for old person to do that job but not for the you ? Why? You think fashion is the of tomorrow and you would rather do fashion modeling?  Or wait till you finish your Degree to get a job knowing that your family’s financial situation is worsening day by day. Here is a good fashion tip if you are in to it: Wear a fancy dress, ride an old bicycle and sell some milks or breeds, and make some good cash, and you will be a real model. People will buy your product like hot cakes. You look good! And your are presenting yourself well! People will follow you! Don’t believe me ? You will soon see someone doing this very job in Kathmandu. And it might as well be You!

Have you seen an old person carrying vegetables on bicycle-back? Yes, many of them are very hard working people, especially they come from Terai regions, and some from India. They love their job and they make good enough money to feed themselves and their family. Can you do similar jobs? Ok, I am interested in doing any job, but my family won’t allow me! Now, here again we are talking about other peoples controlling your life! Why should you let that happen? So you believe that your family will be looked down-upon by your neighbors if they find out  about your job that they think is for lower class of people?  They Think? Who are they? Your God? Aren’t your neighbor’s racist ? Don’t bother taking into such people. Forget about neighbors. In cities, they really don’t exist, if they exist, they are useless. At we think so. Do you know the name of the person who lives next door? No, forget it. When was the last time they helped you to pay your tuition fee? Never ? Aha. Are they useful? You got the picture!

Just do your job, any job and get it over with it. Spend your idle time working and helping your parents, start from there. Remember, the only thing that will ever pull you down is your belief that other people should control your life!! There is a difference between Job and Occupation. Job is a job that pays so Grab it, any, and when you can. Occupation is the principal activity in your life that you do to earn money. As you grow, and have better education, you will reach far and have your occupation.

Ok. I am ready.

But my excuse is `There are no job opportunities in Nepal.’

We say, please try again!

Please spread the word of `Job is a Job’, motivate other teens by telling them about this article, and by actually working! We hope this small article brings real stories and perhaps a list of people who actually start working after reading it. Let us start adding the names of the people who are working…. Send us your name, age, address, name of your school/college where you study, the place where you work, the type of job you do, and why you do it, part time or full time, and a small write up about your life.

Final Note: Legal age for working full time is 16 years for Nepal.Remember, Everyone salutes you for working !
